Food Science Research & Outreach

Through collaboration with the U of A System Division of Agriculture, the Agricultural Experiment Station and the Cooperative Extension Service, our food science faculty conduct research and provide education aimed at enhancing production and processing techniques, assuring food safety, utilizing co-products of food processing, improving sensory and nutritional quality of food and understanding the role of nutrition in health and disease.

Research Focus Areas

University of Arkansas Department of Food Science faculty are considered industry experts in many areas of food science, food engineering, food safety, health and food chemistry research.

Outreach & Workshops

Our department offers educational outreach services and workshops for industry professionals looking to expand their knowledge and skills.
